Duplicating and re-assigning classroom assignments

Several teacher subscribers asked us if we could add a new feature: the ability to duplicate existing classroom assignments and re-assign to the same classroom or assign to other classrooms. So we did that 🙂

This means that you can easily assign the same assignment to all of your classes, without having to go through the process of selecting resources, selecting activities, setting activity parameters etc.

Simply click on the new “Duplicate assignment” button (see below)…

Introducing LIVE SESSIONS on TeachVid

We’ve added a whole new side to TeachVid: Live Sessions !!

A Live Session is a time-limited competition based on a TeachVid resource, where students score points on the Live Session scoreboard based on the number and accuracy of their interactions.

Live Sessions are a great way of injecting some excitement and an element of competition into a TeachVid video resource, either in class or at home 🙂

There are 2 types of Live Sessions:

  1. Classroom Live Sessions (for teacher subscribers only)
  2. Temporary Live Sessions (for all registered users with featured resources)

Example classroom

Classrooms on TeachVid are set up by teachers, and users normally need to be sent an invitation to join these classrooms along with a password.

But we’ve now added an example classroom that anyone can visit.

The example classroom allows you to see what a classroom looks like – and what assignments and Live Sessions look like – from a student’s perspective. (The only difference here is that none of the assignments have a due date, and the Live Sessions are auto-generated roughly every hour.)

Setting assignments

For teachers, TeachVid classrooms are a place where they can assign activities and assessments for their students to complete. Any TeachVid user with a teacher subscription can create their own classrooms, add students, set assignments and assessments.

Classrooms – managing students

This post deals with how to invite and manage students in private classrooms.

(Public classrooms can be accessed by all premium students, but teachers of public classrooms have no control over those who join.)
